ABS light on

yeah its not the ABS speed sensor(in the rear), i replaced it with a new one and the damn light is still on. i checked the fuses and they are all fine, but could it be the diode under the hood in the power distrubution box??
how do you check a bad diode??

i even disconnected the battery and waited a while thinking the ECU would reset itself and turn off the damn thing!

use continuity check on your multimeter, it will show continuity one way but not the other.

Just a note . . .in ALL CASES . . .ABS light stays on = problem with brakes or electronics. Take to dealership and hook up to computer, save time and money. Dont screw around, too many variables. From the mouth of a retired Ford mechanic.

intermittent ABS/wiper

2006 XLT 3.0

I have been experiencing and intermittent ABS and Brake light lately. It comes on even when I am an the freeway and not using the brakes. I had my mechanic check the brakes and the computer and no errors were found.

Last night while driving home in a respectable rainstorm, not only did the abs and brake lights come on, but my windshield wipers would stop. The warning lights would go on and off, and as far as I could tell, the windshield wipers would stop while the lights were on. The wipers would go on and off at irregular intervals far beyond the normal intermittent settings. Of course, by the time I got home, all was working well.

As near as I can tell, this is a moisture/connector issue. I find it curious that the warning lights can come on without leaving a code in the computer memory.
