Question about ranger / newer ford ABS systems.
I keep hearing about this need for a scan tool to pulse the abs system when bleeding brakes:icon_confused:. Is this only on the Rear wheel only abs systems:icon_twisted:? Or is it on all Rangers:annoyed:? Or all newer Fords with ABS:shok:. I have had several ABS equiped cars and have done bleeds on all of them them same old way. I even had a 95 winstar that I replaced the abs pump module (accuator) in and bleed it the same way::sad::.

Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can pass on.

If you let the system drain dry, then yes, you should do a service bleed with the scan tool. If you just replaced calipers or something and didn't let the master cylinder run dry, there shouldn't really be any need to bleed the ABS unit.
