I owned 5 different 2002's and 1600's back in the day. Loved them except for two things - 2nd gear synchro was always gone and if you didn't want the grinding downshifting, you always had to double clutch them. Thing 2 was that they are a major overlap enginge and if you didn't change your timing chain (yes chain) religiously, they'd bend valves in a heartbeat. My sister in law's 325 was a blast to drive, but as was said above, very expensive to maintain. Almost bought a euro M3, but couldnt get a title for it.
