I have started investigating this option because I recently got the fm145 for nothing and when I talk to the local Trans shop his first question was "Is the crank the same for the Auto and manual Trans?" The input shatf for the manual shift has to fit inside the nd of the crank. Also is it the same flywhheel?" Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks.

Automatics don't even have flywheels. they have flex plates. so no. big difference. but you can change those. what engine did the FM come out of and what engine do you have? and what year?

I have a 90 Bronco 2 2.9 and the fm came out of another B2...not sure the year

It'll bolt up make sure the length is the same i think it's the 146 but some are a different length. Those still work but you have to change drive line length.Don't forget you need to change your pedals and price a clutch flywheel master cyl slave cyl.to figure that in.I did this and prefer it over the auto greatly.

gotta take off the torque converter and and the flex plate and bolt on the flywheel and clutch from the manual. then put in your trans and your gonna need to shorten the front shaft and lengthen the rear shaft and you will need the starter from the standard
