A4LD to a M5OD

I have a '94 3.0L engine with the A4LD, and was wondering how hard it would be to swap in a M5OD from a '92 ranger with a 2.3L?


the tranny is on CL for pretty cheap, so i was just curious...

You have to use a trans from a 3.0 the bellhousings are different.

If you can find a transmission from a 3.0, you will also need the pedal assembly, the hydros for the clutch, and the shifter boot, your truck already has the hole cut, just remove the plate under the carpet, and you will need to bypass the neutral switch, of you could run it up to the clutch safety switch so you can't start it without pushing in the clutch first.

I don't know if you would need the trans mount or not, I'm thinking not, or if you might need a longer or shorter drive shaft.
