i have a 92 ranger 4.0 ohv 4x2 with a broken a4ld i would like to put a 4r55e in the truck instead simply for the fact that it was built for the higher torque ohc 4.0 is this possible. I know it's computer controled . does this mean i would need to change the ecu and the harness to do this?

Actually the 4R55E was not built for "higher torque" it was built for more
electronic control than the A4LD.

The 4R55E wasn't used behind the 4.0SOHC
the 5R55E got that job.

ok lets say i had a 98 exsplorer with the ohc 4.0 not sure the tranny. How hard would it be to change the motor and the trany? i know it would take alot of electrical work and porlly some adjustments in driveshaft and mounting.
