was thinking i might be able to use the 55re plate that goes between the valve body and trans and the a4ld valve body on top

what kind of aluminum is the trans made of?

No , not that easy. The case and valve bodys are completely different. However, you CAN install the 5R geartrain into a modified A4LD case which will give you the result you are looking for.

Google " Franken-tranny "

well i plan on doing the sohc swap using the ohv harness could i use the 5r55e bell housing on the a4ld with the case with with 5r55e internals with little mod?
