When I drive, my Bronco II stays in first gear for a really long time. Once the transmission warms up it will shift correctly as long as it is hot. As soon as it cools down, same problem again. I have been told it is the torque converter, modulator valve, gasket for the filter, and/or dirty fluid. Transmission has just been installed on it and it has new filter and fluid. As far as I remember, transmission was fine when it was in my other Bronco II. I do remember buying a modulator for that transmission as well.

Anyone have any clues as to what this might be? I need my vehicle back! :dunno:

Have you tried doing the filter and fluid? It could be a blocked filter.

Also, did you use the correct Mercon Fluid?
