Well iv finally decided that i need to do something about the shifting issue in my 92 Ex. When i first start out in the morning, if i start off in 1, and run up to about 2500-3000 then shift up to 2 manually, it shifts fine, but when i shift to 3, it kicks back to 1st again. Once i run for a mile or so in 2nd, i can shift into 3rd and then OD with no problem. Ive spoken to the transmission guru where i work, and he says i need to drop the valve body and check it and the governor. I however am no transmission person, i drop pans and change filters, pull em out and put em in, but thats it. My question for this is, does anyone make an upgraded valve body, or a shift improver kit that i can have installed into the valve body to remedy my situation, and firm up the shifts to lessen the slippage and hopefully extend the trans' life some. It was a pain in the ass dealing with this thing the first time, and now im just pissed off. Yes i have checked the fluid level, and it is ok. The vacuum modulator valve is brand new from FORD, no issue there unless i have no vacuum present, but i havent had time to check yet.
SO, does anyone know of valve body upgrades that i can look into for my trans? Thanks, FWM.
