Hi I have a 90 ranger 2wd when you drive for a couple of mile it sometimes kicks in and out of overdrive and sometimes will stay out for miles. I changed the filter and flushed the fluid about a year ago and it made this better but it continued to kick out randomly. The electrical plug has the locking tab broken off and has caused this by working loose. I have checked this when it happens and it has been plugged all the way in. Is this some type of lock up problem internally in the trans or converter?
