just rebuilt last year. and a few short months later. i truck just seemed slow off the start like i was towing another car. so i took it back to the shop and they told me my od solenoid was coming on when i leave a stop. they confirmed it with a test light and showed me who they did it. they havent got a clue what is causing it to turn on. could be a sensor could be a short. they told me to rig a toggle and drive it, but my trans over heats.

ive swapped the pcm, engine harness, tps, map, speed sensor. nothing has helped. im down to the nitty gritty, ive taken out the dash to trace wires. lmao what a job that is.

traced most of the trans range sensor wires. not understanding half of why these wires go where they go. on the od solenoid wires orange goes straight to the pcm, thats the ground. red splices into 6 other red wires. lol wtf. somehow that works.

ill be doing more tracing theres one that goes under the b2 on the frame. ill trace that since it would be most likely to be weather damaged.

i could use some extra help. any insight would be appreciated.

How many wires are on the pigtail going into the transmission by chance

I found one wire goes to the starter switch. A while back the switch came apart some how. I tried my best to put it back together. I'm replacing it just to make sure it's not my problem. Plus it's an original part. But could it be possible that it could be my problem. The wire goes from the connector to a splice where one wire goes directly to the pcm and the other to the switch. Is it power maybe.

Still having found an answer as to why the pcm is grounding the lock up solenoid.
