feels like its towing another car.

today when i left to get some mikki d's (mcdonalds) my drive way is a decline. i went to back out and it wouldnt move. normally it would just roll pretty fast. she didnt budge, had to give it gas.

trans shop that rebuilt it says the torque converter solenoid was getting a constant ground from the pcm. so they cut the wire. they said it wasnt locking anymore. but my problem still exists.

now when i take off i have to give it a lot of gas and i smell trans fluid. no leak found, im guessing its coming from out of the fill tube.

fluid is getting darker.

this all started when i went to the family dollar, drove just fine all the way there. parked, went shopping came out, got to the first stop light. green and suddenly no go. had to go half throttle before it started to move. felt like i was trying to pull my dads truck. its a f 250 8800lbs.

any ideas on this will be helpful. like if its my trans or computer or wiring

how does it roll in neutral? sounds like brakes hanging up to me. Get the lookup wire put back together. If that was grounding out it would kill the motor right away no in between.

ok ill get it hooked back up. thanks for answering. lol ive been waiting for someone to help.

but on a sec note. i did lift the rear and spun the tires. they spun with little effort. i did the front today and they both spun easily.

i thought the same thing.

idk if it helps to know but i had a hublock break and havnt replaced it yet. but that side is still free spinning with out the shaft moving.

Do you use your emergency brake a lot? Some times if you only use it once in a while the will stick. The hub wont have any effect.

I do use the e brake a lot. It does roll in neutral. With little effort. But soon as it goes in reverse or drive it won't under it own power aka not pushing the gas.

What next

Could be a bad torque converter or planetary gear set coming apart. Hard to diagnose over a keyboard. Need to actually feel and hear what's happening. Most drivetrain problems are diagnosed by the seat of your pants and your ears.

Hahaha I fully agree with that. I wish I knew more about trannies. But they take a while. I have the time but not the teacher. Lol. But you said a planetary. What is that and will make a trans give a chugging feeling. Or slip

I sure wish i had some young folks around my parts that wanted to learn. But to answer your question the image is a planet assy and yes it will give you a chugging feeling when bad. As it turns it will get free in one spot and then tighten up as it rotates to the bad area. Hope this helps

There are 3 clutch packs and 3 bands, plus OD,Front and rear planets in your transmission.

I have pictures I am trying to load but they're posting upside down:dunno:
When I figure this out I will post them

That looks like mess. Lol. The transmission specialist at Ford was saying the pack is fine, like you said, and that I need to check fluid pressure. He believes it's a trans problem as well. So how do I do a line pressure test and what is supposed to be

Update. Found vss wires with missing insulation and were twisted. Fixed.
Tps not working correctly. If unplugged torque converter does not lock up. Plugged in when taking off from a stop ill have to tap the brake pedal and it will drive normal for a few mins and ill have to tap it again. Until I reach my cursing speed.

So ill probably have to replace the tps. Also found dark swirls in trans fluid before I started it.
