i have a 91 explorer 4.0 a4ld and 7 inch lift with 33 12.50 Trail truck
my question is last weekend went out and it was very muddy was going up a very steep hill and i alway run in 1st gear i got 3/4 the way up and started spinning so i let off and went to roll back and i went in neutral got to the bottom and had to move the selecter from 1st to park like three times then it went in gear. So i tried it again and same thing. Then i went in a creek and tired a 5 foot wall got the front tires over and it went in nuetral. after the three times it didnt do it the rest of the night. all fluid was full i allways run it in first so i dint cange anything from before and i climb the hill all the time when its dry.

any help before my next trip so i dont crap myself again thanks

Your fluid may be full, but your trans pan and filter cant go that steep.

I had the same problem, make a deeper pan for it, and route the filter pick up to the back via a large pipe.
