I asked this in "I hate theives" but it is old and no one probably read it, so here goes: Is it illegal to purchase and use rims that were recycled at a recycling center (Where you take Aluminum cans to and copper and such)?

no its not illegal alot of people just get hard up for money and take them there for quick cash...

It's a local issue, whether salvaging at the recycling center is allowed.

Even if it is allowed, recyclers throw stuff around. Those rims may not be very straight if someone has dumped an engine on them.

Well what I am getting at is that kid that has my rims claims that they were "Scrapped" and he bought them after the guy left. Now I never knew that you could buy "Scrap" parts from a recycling center. It is not like a junkyard.

I used to buy scrap from the recycling center in Austin, Texas all the time. Sadly, the one up here is no longer open to the public.
