A little problem with my truck. (pics)

yes, as long as you dont over-oil the filter.

but, sticking a cone filter on the end of your MAF inside the hot engine compartment isnt a "cold" air intake. the factory intake is a true cold air system...you arent going to get more power with a cone filter.

hmmm i just thought that i would be getting more air

no, it will not help. if anything, youd be more likely to loose power by sucking in warm engine compartment air. in reality, you wont notice a bit of difference either way.

Speaking of filters, I also ordered a k&N panel filter. It will be in Monday. The cloth filter won't fall apart due to moisture. I wanted a different brand but, K&N was the only cloth filter I could get for this app.
Also, the price has come down conciderably since the last time I checked. $30 and change.

I'm hoping this filter will fit the frog. I changed the air box and I don't remember what it came out of. I can't stand bolt together air cleaners, just stupid!!
If not, It will just stay in this truck.

i agree and have thought about changing mine to one with spring clips...but with the K&N i just dont check the filter as often :D

But, that is even worse with a bolt together air cleaner. The more often you open it, the less likely the bolts are to seize. I use anti-seize on them.
Oh. don't over tighten them! Just snug is all they need!!!!

i usually spray them with penitrating oil everytime i have it apart. they are usually still wet with oil by the next time i open it.

but your right, nothing worse than when one of those damn blind nuts decides to start turning in the plastic housing :annoyed:
