hey guys.
i am about to put the rear springs back on my ranger and i think i may have a problem. i have a 2001 ranger that i am doing a frame up build in memory of my little brother. were going to be pushing 500 hp and im not sure to stock leafs are gonna hold that kinda power without snapping. especially with drag radials and slicks. any suggestions? i wanted to do an add-a-leaf but i am not sure that will be enough. thanks

Use ford explorer leaf springs coupled with a roadmaster active suspension kit. The kit acts as sway bars, traction bars, and stiffens the suspension up all in 1 kit.

Sorry to hear about your little brother.....he's in good hands in Heaven....

Let us know which forum you will be posting pictures in......

The leafs will be fine. What you are worried about is axle wrap. Look into adding a traction device to the axle like an anti axle wrap bar. You could go extreme and add a 4 link and coil springs the rear instead of leafs. Really depends on what you want to spend. And depending on what you do to it may or may not be the setup that you want.

post up some pics of this beast! I would do an explorer rear end swap including leafs, and then you could fab up some traction bars for it pretty quick.

well this is what i have now. lol

Stock springs arent the problem, like said in a post ^ there you should be worried about the axle twist a control bar of sorts would be the ticket and if your worried about the power flexing the springs and cause wheel hop just throw a set of traction bars on it...question though what rear end are you going with? Posi or slip?

¤Off like a Terd of Hurtles¤

i am building two rear ends a limited slip 8.8 for the street and a full posi 9 inch for the strip
