So I was wandering around one of my future father in laws rental properties yesterday that had been recently vacated. Sitting beside the house was a set of 15x7 stock 5spoke steelie wheels from an 01' tj (I know the guy who lived there) that were painted black and had a set of 265/75r15 cooper discoverer atr's mounted up I forgot he just put new wheels and tires on before moving to Florida. I've been watching craigslist because I'm running mud n snows on the 2wd and I wanted a spare set of rims so I could get some street tires for summer. And I just got a free set! Not to mention they're 15's and so much easier to find tires for than my 14's. The only way it could be better is if they were aluminum. So I was already stoked about that and then I went back to the shop and ran into the father in law. He said oh whats the wheels for and I told him the story. So he says oh yeah he left a couple of tool boxes in the shed too. Wanna see if one will fit in your truck? So I went to look and there in a little run down shed were a couple diamond tread aluminum tool boxes. One was absolutely huge and for a fullsize and was at least 30" front to back. But whahaha:yahoo: there to the side of it was a 48" UWS utility chest:icon_surprised: (bolts to the floor doesn't have the wings to sit on the bed rails). SWEETNESS!!!!! Yeah it's a little faded and a little beat on but so's my ranger so it is perfect! It functions perfectly and all it needs is a key. The best part is the last few weeks I've been researching the heck outta that kind of box because the regular cab ranger has NO room and I'm just not a fan of the bed rail mount boxes. For a grand total of $10 for a couple keys I scored a set of wheels that fit great on my 2wd(already test fit) and a locking tool box. So yesterday was GREAT:headbang:

Three of the coopers have 20% tread and one is bald(overinflated) but it doesn't really matter because they are way to huge for my little 2wd. So I plan to see if a used tire place around here might wanna trade for some small street tires cause I figure the cooper's will be worth more than some 215's lol. Speaking of if somebody wants the tires make me an offer and come pick em' up. They would make good spares/emergencies or good roll around's. For that matter if someone's got some decent street tires in 26" to trade or 26" on aluminum wheels(even 14's) possibly steelies(15" only) to trade I'll trade the tires and/or the wheels and tires for the one's I've got. The wheels even have three of four jeep center caps but I'm pretty sure alot of ranger caps would fit. If I need to list that in For Sale/Trade I can do it and edit this post:icon_thumby:

working on it gotta remember my photobucket password, haven't had internet in almost a year. Thank you smart phone.

thats a great score! specially on that toolbox, I have been looking for a deeper one for my ranger close to hickory, NC where I live. But people are asking an arm and leg for a used beat up toolbox

Finally remembered the password! So here's some pics

These are the Cooper discoverer's. Like I said 3 outta 4 have about 20% tread left.

This is why I don't need the tires lol. That is the bald tire and its totally jacked up the one corner and I lost a full turn either way on steering before it contacted. There would be no chance if the tires still had new tread. The wheels are all in good shape but they need to be scuffed and sprayed again. Thats the only wheel without a centercap but I won't run them anyway because they say jeep.

And here's the best score!

Maybe it was sold through a Leonard dealer and that could explain the sticker but it's got UWS info on the inside and thats the blue UWS plaque under the sticker thats peeling off. The box is a little dull and has some stains on on it that I could probably get off by using some wheel cleaning acid and polishing it up and what not but since the trucks well used I'm just gonna leave it alone because it matches perfectly.

This is the inside after I took some simple green and a scrub brush to it it's water tight and square and the handles and lock still work so I consider it to be an epic WIN!!!

yeah 85ranger I agree, of course I researched it and brand new that thing is neary $400. People think that just because they paid that for it, thats what its worth when they sell it.

hahaha and now I'm not even out cash for a key. Looking for a part in the shop at work today I found a box full of spare keys to old trucks and old padlocks from years past and I have now gone from zero keys to three for the tool box lol. Plus I've now got an extra for the tool box on my fiance's truck too. And glancing at the keys I've prolly got 8-9 other serial numbers to boot. Thinkin tomorrow I need to take those tires and see if I can trade for what I want since I seem to be having some good luck for a change.
