Okey Im goin 5.0 for sure now...
Okey the engine and trans I have is a 302/auto out of a 89 f150 I want to reuse as much as possible off this truck as I can. So can I use the intake or do I need to get the stang' intake for this? And on wireing does any body have a detailed wireing diagram showing what to do and how to do it? This is my first time swaping a v8 in to a ranger done many of carbed s10s but never a ranger...

A few have used the truck intake setup. Most go with the Stang's setup. Your call. You'll also need to swap oilpans to the foxbody dual sump (also found on the Crown Vic/towncar/marquis 5.0) It'll have a roller block, but have a flat tappet cam, you might want to swap cams to a roller, as long as the bosses for the lifter retainer spyder are present (found one block that had these half formed) and drilled and tapped.

I've heard and read that you can use the 2.9L FI harness, you will need to extend a couple wires and add 2 injector plugs, but you use the 2.9L harness with the truck's 5.0L ECU, which is easier than transplanting the EFI harness from the F150 to the ranger..

is this to get around things like the header/firewall plug and such? from what I can learn, the full-size v8's have a box style firewall plug instead of the rbv's circular style.

the 150 pcm is on the other side, but wired the same way basically. depending on actual goals, leaving the 2.9 harness in place eliminates the key wiring and pump wiring interfaces. fairly simple really.

but would likely run a sefi/maf car system stand alone as the 150 engine and operating system limitations pretty much defeat the purpose of a v8 swap by leaving it a nutless waste of time. 260-300 hp would be the minimum goal for a v8 swap for me..
