a d30 d44 hybrid?

i doubt it...

first reading this i thought it was about the JK rubi d44 front axles.. which have the same outers as a d30... main difference of the d30 and d44 in JK's are the ring and pinion is bigger in the d44. but this has nothing to do with what you're talking about....lol

it has to be a 30 now that i think cause the d44 housing is casted for the bigger tubes and if you put d30 tubes in there your gonna have a big gap.

Right right, early Broncos had d30s... but I dont see how it could be using 30 tubes on a 44 axle, as you said, it seems there would be big spacing between the differential housing and the tubes.

71 and a half the early bronco went to a d44 and in 76 went to disc brakes and in 78 the bronco went full width and went with a high pinion d44 and then 1980 ford thaught it would be great to make every thing 1/2 ton TTB

hey now... ttb is a GREAT idea when you look at in on paper.. and if you leave it stock- its actually a pretty nice setup.

hey now... ttb is a GREAT idea when you look at in on paper.. and if you leave it stock- its actually a pretty nice setup.

Then what about my truck? With 6" of lift, Bilstiens, 33's, and a locker I can go plenty of places and it rides like a caddy on the freeway. Hardly stock.

No, its only a headache if you don't know anything about what you're working on. Everything I have done is bolt on. SAS is exactly opposite, nothing is bolt on. Comparing apples to oranges here....


As far as the OP, I'd stay away from that axle...unless you can produce some research showing that what this guy is saying is true.

From what I got out of the post, apparently they put d30 tubes into a d44 housing and kept the d30 shafts... Why? I do not know. I would have thought just throwing a whole entire d44 in would be easier.

looks like a 44 to me, worth taking a look at, read the numbers on the housing and u will know what axle u are dealing with
