Hello everyone,
I have a '98 Ranger 4cyl manual trans. My A/C worked fine up until one day it just stopped working. It hadn't been blowing warm air or anything. One day it worked, next it wouldn't come on.
I checked all the fuses. Didn't find anything wrong there. I even tried adding some freon to it following the directions on the can... no joy. I don't think it even sucked any from the can because it never seemed as if the compressor came on. There was some freon that escaped when I attached the hose to the low side.
Any ideas where to start with this? This thing has almost 150k on it, and I've owned it since it had 17k. I really don't want to sink a pile of money into fixing the A/C, I'd rather suffer through with the windows open. But if this is something I can fix, or get fixed on the cheap, I'll do it.
Thanks
