A/C cuts off under accelration

Just bought this truck off my dad and he did mention most of the current problems with this truck before i took over it. When i accelerate the A/C shuts off until im at cruising speed on 5th gear. Any ideas? Vacuum line or something?

The A/C kicks off during heavy acceleration to provide more power for the motor. If if kicks off during any acceleration, you might want to look into vacuum or whatever relay kicks the A/C off.

totally normal, and just to add what sniper said. if it cuts out when you rev the engine and it does this rapidly it most likely has a low charge.

also keep in mind that the A/C clutch is supposed to cycle regularly but too rapidly
