Okies, the '84 Ranger has no A/C, not a problem unless is the dead of summer! As far as the bracketry, pulleys and fan housing are concerned, can they come off a 2.9 engine? My truck has a 2.8. I ask because they look like they could and I can't find a 2.8 with A/C at all. Finding A/C on a 2.9 is a dime a dozen around here.

I'll be going to the JY tomorrow and if anybody could save me the trouble of tearing into two trucks to only find out the A/C system won't transfer from a 2.9 to a 2.8 that would be much appreciated. :D

lol probably will end up tearing into two trucks... I don't think I have seen anything on swapping out from a 2.9 to 2.8 or vice versa. But if you do end up going that route, take pictures and let us all know. Hopefully a near mint 2.8 will be dropped into the yard right before you go.

Another thing, you might see what other cars use the 2.8. you might get lucky and find one with some or all of the brackets needed.
