Ok so i have an 85 BII, my a/c doesn't work. I have recently come into several cans of freon. Is there anyway i can test my ac compressor?

Thanks in advance and sorry if this question has been asked several time before, i could not find a thread asking the same question.

just jumper power to the wire of the compressor and see if it clicks. then take it to a SHOP and get it leak checked and charged.

its illegal to charge/discharge R-12 without a license. and its illegal to charge R-12 into a known leaking system

R-12 (if that's what your cans are) is only becoming more scarce. Definitely do not try to charge it without having it thoroughly leak-tested first (the fact it's not working now indicates for sure there's some sort of an issue with it).

If what you have is R-134a, then the system will need to be flushed and converted first (in addition to leak checking) before you can use it.

Strongly recommended you take it to a shop no matter what if you're not fully familiar with what's required.
