I have an issue with the gas and temp gauges not working.The temp goes to cold and fuel goes to full I have replaced the chip board in the panel and they didn't change and sending unit in tank checks out fine

Grounding problem in the gauge cluster somewhere maybe? Loose wire connection somewhere. Hard to really say, but I'm not very educated on vehicle electrical systems.

The usual grounding fault that causes problems with the temp gauge is not in the instrument cluster.

It is the ground strap that connects the back end of the drivers side cylinder head to the
one of the mounting studs for the wiper motor.

Yes, Gound issue.

Battery Negative to engine
Engine ground to cab firewall, as said usually a ground strap from drivers head to firewall bolt, both ends need to be on bare metal

Ground strap from engine to Frame, this usually only effects tail lights but could effect fuel gauge if it was grounded to frame instead of cab like it usually is

Thank you for making my response far more clear than I could have. I figured grounding problem, but didn't know where all the typical ground issues were...until now.
