so i was looking at my engine bay the other day when i was changing plugs, and i said to myself there's to much room in here. what kinda engine swap should i do. diesel or gas engine and what size?:icon_confused:

That's about the easiest year for the Explorer 5.0L swap. Check the tech library up top for all the info.

Alright thank you Dave, my cousin said to do a 4bt swap like his old s10 had but I gotta find. A build thread first

Just use the search up top, quite a few hits using: 4bt swap

It is a harder swap than the Explorer 5.0l, but the 4bt swap, if done right, actually increases the value of the truck, usually not for the amount invested, lol, but more than a V8 swap.

its one of those things that really depends on how cheap i can get a engine and tranny for the swap, but im on the fence about it tho cause i can most likely get more hp out the 5.0 but then again i know i can get more ft/tq from then 4bt w/ the right tranny and gears
