99 Ranger to 99 Explorer Rear End Swap

I want to lower my 1999 Ford Ranger 2WD anyway so my question is can I use the Explorer leaf springs in the ranger? If not will the ranger springs fit on the explorer rear end? Either way approx. how much will this lower the truck in the rear? Will I need new shackles as this would be like a flip kit? Thanks for your help.

P.S. This truck has a coil spring front suspension, not that it means anything for the rear.

If you swap Explorer springs in, you'll get 1-2" of lift. If you swap in the axle, you'll get about 5" of drop since the Explorer axle is SUA. You can swap both and be around 4" or so of drop. You could get Belltech 6400 shackles if you want less drop.

Its at direct swap an depends on how you want your truck to sit.

Only snag in the swap is shock mounts, I just made a new crossmember to mount the top of the shocks too & used the Explorer leaf spring brackets that the shock mount too, and you will need to get some 5* leaf spring shims to get your pinion angle back to normal.
