i found a 13-54 manual t case at the junk yard and was wondering what it would take to swap it into my truck. I have a 4.0 with a 5r55e transmission. I read on the forums id need an explorer front drive shaft, anything else?

I believe only the 95-96 explorers have the correct drive shaft. Unless the manual 1354 came from an fx4 level II, which would have the shaft you need.

does it matter if the explorer had awd or 4wd? Id imagine id have to get one from a 4wd.

also the front driveshaft in the donor ranger which is a 96 has a double cardan front drive shatf, will it now work?

I believe all the awd exploder shafts are cv, so they won't bolt up.

The 96 ranger shaft will be an inch or so too long IIRC. I couldn't find a sploader shaft, so i had the ranger shaft shortened.
