99 Ranger-loss of power&Shutter

99 Ranger

My 99 starting having loss of power and shuttering especially after sitting for a couple of days.

I did a leak down test and sure enough leaking head. Removed the heads and both were cracked.

I saw a leak down tester at harbor frieght for $30.

mine does this, if im crusing along at 55 and i ease into it it misses but if i floor it its fine, first time i fixed it when i did my tranny. it was a vac leak on the fpr, i think now the fpr may have shit because it just started this bs again, anyone know what the pressure should be at the fuel rail, could have swore the gauge said 30psi the other day when i had it on.

How did you diagnosis the #2 injector ? After replacing my heads, I still do not have the power I should have, and I am thinking that while my plugs were fouled I dumped fuel into the cats and plugged them up.

how were both heads cracked? you must have had that pig overheated or something for awhile?

Thermo stuck shut, both heads cracking on the 4.0L is not that uncommon.
