lol...well since you already know what the problem is, manual hubs?

Well you can either:
A. Swap on manual hubs
B. Swap over a live axle setup
C. Perminately lock your hubs
D. convert them to manual hubs
E. Troubleshoot them.

Heres a write up I did for figuring out whats wrong with them. and hopefully making them functional agian. Don't replace parts you don;t need to, and if you need to replace stuff thats expensive I recommend one of the other options cause its not worth fixing something that could break again. but if its simpple then do it till something serious happens.

theres only one choice of manuals for our trucks. The AVMs/Rugged Ridge Brand. A good price for them new would be $120-$150

It won't even hurt fuel economy that much at all, probably won't even notice a change.

Nope, unless you leave them locked in when you're on the street... you'll lose a mile a gallon about.

...and those have a reputation for blowing up when not locked in... not sure if they've fixed that yet

Well they only blow up everyonce in awhile. chances are you would be fine. BUt I like the manual autos, cost nothing and is just as effective without the bad rep flying off.

a few isolated incidents wouldn't really deter me from buying a set but i blew my old AVMs out because my retaining ring on the cv shaft blew out and the shaft whipped around raping the innards of the AVMs (obviously not the hubs fault) so i just bought a set of regular vacuums from AllanD. ANYWAYS, i vote for converting them to manual hubs. Its pretty much a win win situation for cheap. as somebody else posted earlier heres the link:

I did it in like 10 minutes

HELLO ME again is there any problem with water getting in and freezing thanks for all the help John

Freezing your auto hubs up? No they are sealed up tight because they have to operate on vacuum so any leaks would let air in. and the manual ones I am pretty sure have a rubber o ring to prevent that as well.
