Is there a trick to getting the headlight housing out on a 99 Ranger? I got one clip out (I'm thinking by luck) and the other 3 will not budge. Is there a special tool required? What am I missing?

Just haveta get hold of em with pliers and pullem up, if the one you have out already is open on the bottom, they come right out, but if its closed on the bottom, then you have to take it around the stud.............

Finally got them off. Broke 3 of the 4 clips. Got the lights in place and went to track down some clips. Autozone not very helpfull. OReilly's got a parts books out, found the part and saw it was an on shelf part in the ailse. If I ever need service I always go to Oreilly's first. They are way more happier to help than Autozone.

Anyway, headlights and marker lights are on and am ready to put the taillights on once I put the toneau cover back on. Anyone know if there are "security" screws available for the taillights?

I'd suggest just coverting to a locking tailgate handle if you havnt already. if thye cant open the tailgate they cant get to the two screws on the inside.

Backroad101,

I cannot get my headlight housing back in. Is there a trick to getting the studs with the rubber clip holders in far enough to put the clips on and to make the bottom ones go in far enough to click into place?

I had the same issue. Just have to push the headlight and put the clips in at the same time
