Ahh...I get it now. I'm probably going to do the fender flares and running boards in flat black. I'll be starting that tomorrow.

Say, which Pro Comp add a leaf set did you use? I'm thinking this is going to be the least expensive way for me to add enough room for the tires I want to put on. Was is the 13120, I think I saw someone on another website use this kit but the Pro Comp website doesn't list anything for 99 Explorers.

Yes, the part # is 13120. I think they're meant for chevy's, but whatever works man.

I got the part number and the idea from Accord Ranger.

If your X still suffers from a case of the rear-end saggies....then the add-a-leaf will only bring it back up to stock ride height like it did on mine. It took 2 more leafs from an F-150 and Warrior shackles to get the 2" lift I was looking for.

I put the Warrior shackles on and it's just about at stock height. I think the 1.5-2" that the add a leaf could yield is where I want to be, and it's only $35 from Summit so now I just have to find some other stuff I've been needing to justify an order ($10 shipping & handling). The add a leaf did raise yours up a bit, correct?

yep. but that was with stock shackles. You'll notice a difference in the ride, but not enough to worry about. Very minor.

I don't have a build thread for my Explorer as I haven't decided what my long term plans are for it. I mostly bought it to have a four door hunting rig/light towing. Maybe I'll start one. I do have one for my Ranger though: http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91477
