I'm doing my wheel bearings and all my bushings at the moment. I was wondering if the 01 or 02 hubs could be a replacement to those oh so awesome vacuum activated hubs. Has anyone tried to do this? I talked to a few ford dealership mechanics and they said they weren't sure but didn't think so due to some thing with the outer shaft. If I can do this I'm gonna modify the hubs to always be locked in. Has anyone done that and how does it perform after?

You have to also change the axle shafts. The pvh axle shafts have a groove for the snap ring and the later setup axles are threaded for the axle nut and also have splines.

Ah, I see. I can picture it clearly in my head
