Ran into a '99 4x4 xcab, 145K miles, auto, V6 3.0 flexfuel. Would go down to $1600.

It was rolled @55mph on dirt road: damage to roof, driver door, windshield "spidered". front hood damage. xcab section intact.

Can the front cab be repaired, or is it better to get a new one? Would that require major work as far as wiring, steering column, etc?

What about ladder frame, is it suspect? (worried about "straightness")

I saw someone buy a wrecked ranger for $500, just to get the engine & parts.

just realized the '99 is IFS front (I want Dana 35 TTB), & it's prone to problems:

"The vaccum hubs are notoriously failure prone."

No biggie, just swap in Explorer or later-model Ranger axles and hubs. There is a write-up in the TRS Tech Library.

what about the front-cab, how do I replace that? Sounds like a LOT of work.
