Hello all,

I have a 99 ranger scab 4x4 4.0 auto.

I had posted about engine light, lean running. I ve check all hose lines and connection in and around intake, even sprayed carb cleaner around intake area the best I could, fan blows hard, nothing.

But what I did do is spray motor down to clean and when ever I sprayed on the driver side pointed water to the rear near fire wall area (near pcv valve)the idle would get rough. No where alse would this happen, did it couple times, did it everytime.

Any Ideas ?

thanks guys

I'm not sure about your issue with your engine around the PCV area, it could possible be your lower intake manifold gaskets. As for the lean condition try to find in the codes as to where the computer scanned the lean condtion, that could tell you where to start. Could be anything from an o2 sensor ( most likely bank 1) to vacuum leaks, although they are very common. Try cleaning your MAF sensor as well, hope this helps.

Ok,
Well yesterday and this morning samthing happened.

I started truck when ice cold out, would not stay running only if I kept my foot on gas a little.

Pulled codes

still there p0171 and p0174

but a new one of p0113 IAT Sensor Circuit high input.......

what and where is this located at ?

Ok,
So I went out and checked the IAT Intake Air Temp. That would be my hard starting the last 2 mornings. So I removed, cleaned and cleaned pins.
Now its sitting outside to check later when it gets cold again.
