99 4.0 mazda/ranger question

I see a local ad for a 99 mazda B4000 with a blown engine on craigslist for cheap. On car-part.com, they act like these engines between a mazda B4000 and a 4.0 Ranger are somehow different as they are in different categories. As you might imagine, the Ranger engines are much more plentiful than the Mazda. They are the same, right? Anyone know for sure? ECM the same too?

What straycat said about the search... I will tell you this... Same everything. I buy Ranger parts for my B4000 nothing has been different yet.

same.. ive gone to parts store any they dont have any listings for the mazda 4.0 but they do for the ranger 4.0 and its the same parts.
