I recently purchased a 99 3.0 flex with 210000. There seems to be a problem with acceleration especially when hot. Live in Phoenix. I have had a few stalling problems too...the engine occasionally shakes at 1600 rpm when at a new gear but gradually fades. Then around 65-70 MPH has a steady vibration and not good acceleration. Also when entering freeway at a dead stop truck seems to drag all the way till about 55- 60. It really feels like a fuel problem but just would like to get some input....I will be changing out filter as the easiedt cheapest fix..Plugs are OK .any other ideas.

Also can anyone tell me what the manifold just past the fuel filter is.
It receives the fuel line and..Check valve?
Just wanted to know if this is a maint. item or problem.

Sounds like a dead cylinder. Check the injectors, I have a FFV 99' as well, I've had to replace 2 of em' this year. Fortunately they're only 50 dollars a piece through RockAuto.

Thanks...I have had misfire codes in cylinder 2. There has been some oil
residue on the plug but maybe it is also a dead cyl. I will probaly end up removeing the rail and checking all of them just in case. But first I will change
the filter.
Also any input on the manifold just past the filter?
