I need someone with a 98+ SuperCab 2wd manual to measure the rear driveshaft length from weld to weld or u joint center to center.

Found a driveshaft locally, but seller doesn't know what trans the truck had. Trying to confirm length is correct for a manual trans truck

If mine wasn’t a half hour away, I’d try to get a measurement this afternoon

Over the years I've heard the auto and manual were the same length (between the M5 and A4LD and 4R and 5R at least, in the '80's there were differences), the pinion length on the 8.8 versus the 7.5 is different though... I think that's why you aren't finding much information.

When I manual swapped my 99 I remember I needed a different driveshaft.

I believe you're correct for 4x4 stuff, but I think the 2wds are still a little different. 8.8 vs 7.5 has never been an issue for me, I have 8.8 swapped a bunch of stuff and still had enough slip yoke travel using the original driveshaft.

I'm more worried about hitting the bottom of the cab using a one piece on a lowered truck.

I’m still not exactly sure how people are hitting the cab with the one piece driveshaft.

I did the one piece swap in my 92 at stock height and no problem. My 00 green Ranger I lowered it about 4-5” and there’s still lots of up travel before it gets to anything.

Your rear driveline is still at different angles than if it was a 4x2 is probably how... if the front U joint was 8" forward that would put the front of the shaft further up the cab and change the angles... only thought I have, my '97 at stock height is as low as I would want to go for my uses, I never know when I'll be driving through a field or hauling brush around my property and with that wheelbase it needs some clearance in the middle...

I believe I was thinking 4x4, I haven't dabbled in 4x2 life and customization much... heck I've contemplated putting a cut up T case on my '97 just to have low range... of course then I'd want a touch of lift to fit 31's and put 4.30's in a explorer 8.8 with a locker just to help usability... :)
