I was just wondering if I took off the flares on my truck if there would be any holes on the side or anything ugly. I'm pretty sure they won't but I just wanted to check before I rip them off. And if anyone has done it what do they think. I just hate the mudflaps and if you try to take off just the mudflap it looks bad.

Also, if anybody has any tricks on how to get the smell of dog and sweat out of a truck let me know. I've tried those air fresheners that hang on your mirror and they work for like a week but that's it. Thanks!

Mine are mounted inside the lip of the fender flares. Almost all are done that way, except for the after market types that require trimming the fender well areas.

By the way...I removed my mudflaps the year I bought mine (new in 99) and the truck looks so much better!!!

Very clean look!!!

the flares are attached with push pins, so yes there will be a ton of holes in the fender

You mean inside the fender well, Bro? Not on the outside as I think he is talking about. When I took off my flares to buff out the truck and clean the weather strips there were no visible holes. You have to look up under the fender well are to see them. Mine have four mounts up inside the fender well area so you don't see them. I hope this helps out, Bro.

I don't have a Ranger with the fender flares, but I know one thing: if the vehicle is more than a year or two old, and has been kept outdoors all the time, you're going to have "tan lines" because the paint under the flares won't be faded with the rest of the truck. It might look goofy, but I guess you could just put them back on.

Those aren't the flares that came with it are they? Cuz the ones that I have are like molded together and if you take off just the mudflap you can see the paint under it and it looks bad.

all 98+ have the same fenders, all ford changed was the headlights and grille from different years. You will have holes trust me on that....

Oh I see now. So if I did take them off, would there be anyway to fill the holes?

weld them, sand, prime, and paint

Sweet, thank you.
