Ok so my truck has always had a miss every now and then. I replaced the plugs and wires pretty recently with no help. I have noticed here recently the miss has been getting worse. Sometimes when I pull out from around 1000-1700 rpms it basicall almost dies from missing so bad. Does fine going down the road until I hit a hill still runs great but while pulling the hill it will have a few misses before I get to the top but I dont lose any speed. My check engine lite hasnt came on so im pretty confused. I also have been running fuel injector cleaner through it frequently.....Anyone have any ideas?

hope someone else can help

Ok I feel your pain too. I have a 97 4.0 and I experience the same exact issue. Also my buddy with a 4.2 f150 has the studder also. Say you are in fifth gear and cruising the freeway at 65 and it goes up hill a little, not enough to downshift at all, you give it a little gas and the engine starts to just skip everyonce and a while right even though you are running at 2500 rpms? but if you down shift to 4th and get the rpms up in the 4000 range or so, it wont stuttere up the hill. I also have the start issue in the morning. Fire up the truck pull out the driveway, put it in 1st, then it feels like it is going to die, put the clutch in rev it up, then runs fine. SOMEONE please help us fix this issue. thanks.

Sounds like time for new plugs to me. Or at least regap them to stock gap. Also always use the factory plug..NOT aftermarket plugs. There can NEVER be a gain from different plugs..ONLY problems!
