sorry i jsut dont know wat to search for but im gettin manual hubs and need to know wat type of axle my 1998 ranger 4x4 has ont eh front. is it a dana 44?

No, it is not a Dana 44. It should be some form of the Dana 35, either the Twin Traction Beam or the IFS front end. I can't remember when they changed styles

D35 SLA IFS

The only hubs available are the AVM/Rugged Ridge hubs.

yep that or permenantly lock the automatic hubs

2000+ trucks are all live axle trucks....guess what there's virtually no difference in MPG.

I've found a good 2 mpg difference between locked and unlocked. Not a huge difference, but only 100 bucks to swap to manual hubs, you know its locked when you lock them, you know its unlocked when you unlock them. You can keep them unlocked all summer and for long trips, and then lock them all winter, like I do.
