'98 Ranger 5.0 Swap

Greetings!
My neighbor is selling me a 2001 Explorer, 2wd with a 5.0, at junkyard price. A friend bought a 1998 Ranger just for the 2.5 motor. He's giving me a good deal on the rest of the Ranger. I always wanted a 2wd Ranger with a 5.0! This is going to be a daily driver, so nothing too over the top. Any tips will be most appreciated!

I don't think you have to worry about it being over the top, that 5.0 is outdone in regards to power by modern 4 cylinders lol.

They lack the unbeatable V8 exhaust sound however.

I need to do a 302 swap into my 01 ranger as well. You have the perfect doner explorer, for me anyway, lol. Do you have emissions tests there or just safety?
