My credo
no F**ks to give
i have a 98 ranger 2.5 5 speed. when i come to a stop at lights and take the truck out of first and try to put it back into first to take it i have resistance like clutch drag and have to mess with it to get it in. once moving it shifts relatively fine. clutch slave looks newer with no leaks clutch looks fine and the pressure plate fingers look fine. no leaks on the master and i just reverse bled it and it helped firm up the pedal but didn't solve my issue. no gears grind at all even when fighting it so i don't think its mechanical and i just changed my trans fluid. can any one help me out in loosing patience. i feel it may be a bad master and that is my next guess unless some one can steer me other wise.:dunno::dunno::dunno::icon_confused::bawling:

You are not getting full travel in the slave, so clutch disc is still slightly touching flywheel/pressure plate when clutch pedal is in all the way, this applies torque to disc and input shaft.

When you are moving the drive shaft is moving and the gears in the transmission are moving, and when you push in the clutch pedal to change gears the clutch disc and input shaft are moving as well so it is easy to mesh gears because everything is moving.

When you are stopped drive shaft is not moving so transmission gears are not moving,
when you push in the clutch pedal the clutch disc and input shaft are still moving because disc is still touching flywheel/pressure plate, as you push it into first the 4" synchro tries to slow the input shaft down to 0 rpms so input shaft and 1st gear can mesh, but it is hard to do since input shaft is still getting torque from 10" disc touching flywheel/pressure plate.

Because of the way the Master cylinder sits it can get air trapped at the top, this of course takes away a bit of travel in the system.
Since you have already bleed the system I would try the master bleed seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd1KDCAhTLc

You can pull out the master to do this, whatever is easier for you.

how hard is the slave to replace if i have to?

Slave is on the input shaft, transmission end, so transmission must be pulled back far enough to pull it off, so...............transmission pretty much has to come out to replace the slave.

oh i know that im saying can it be done on a lift in like 2 hours ?
i would say i have a pretty good mechanical knowledge as well and all the tools i need
