I have a 98' 2wd 2.5L automatic. The passing gear doesn't always seem to want to dis-engage after letting off the throttle, and then you must burp the throttle to dis-engage it. Anyone now whats up with this or is it normal.

id swing by ford and see if there is a PCM update for the truck. a lot of little issues like that get ironed out later on and a simple update will usually fix them.

I had it in there recently for the cruise control recall . I'll have find out about the pcm update. I've had the truck for about four months, so not sure whats all been done to it. just know what I've done to it so far.

they wouldnt have checked anything while doing the cruise recall.

ford is constantly coming out with PCM updates for different vehicles...and most of the time the updates relate to automatic transmission performance or drivability issues.....ford autos suck.
