ive had this truck for a couple months now, no problems mechanically until about 2 weeks ago.

i can start my truck and it will idle perfectly as long as i leave it on.
but (not always) as soon as i put it in reverse or drive it will die. sometimes
it will sputter first. out of the 12 times its done it the check engine light came on once and only for a split second. wuts with that?

sometimes when i drive the truck will just idle way upp and seem like its out of gear but only for a split second and btw when this happens i let off the gas and motor is still idling at 3-4 grand. i know its not transmission slipping.

sometimes when slow down quite a bit by using the brake, the truck will try to take off but only for a split second lol.

ive replaced all spark plugs with oem, new air filter, new oil and filter.

the check engine light wont stay on long enuff for me to get it checked.

is my engine light faulty? maybe my fuel filter is clogged?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like a vacuum leak.

A likely source is the intake manifold gaskets.

If the light is coming on, usually it will store codes, sounds like you have a break in a vac line or a split in you intake tube between the maf and engine, or a wire that is getting tugged on when the engine moves

okay about 3 days ago my truck died in the middle of the highway. it would try to crank but it wasnt getting any fire. i was so confused, turns out sum wires had rubbed raw on the engine block and kept shorting out. lol.

but i havent had any problems with the truck since.

appreciate the advice
