the truck is a mazda b4000 1998 4.0L

Before the the gasket replacement truck was running fine perfectly fine but was throughing p1071 and p1074 codes so i thought to change plenium gasket and could not find any vaccum leaks.

while we replaced the plenium gasket and we replaced the injector o-rings to make sure. and the o-ring from that metal tube that goes to the egr.

once done we started the truck up and it ran just fine drove it about 10 miles and my low fuel light came on and as soon as i got to the gas station it started idling running and wanted to stall and not to mention power to the brakes would go and come. i thought it was probably the fuel so i put some gas in turned it on and did the same thing idled rough and would stall.

popped the hood to find out we left the 2 hoses from the dpfe unplugged so after we plugged them back in it was still idling rough and would stall. but it would stay on if i stepped on the gas pedal. and that's how i got it home.

now it turns on doesn't idle and stalls or idles very high rpms and goes low then high.

so i am so confused why did it run those 10 miles then start giving me problems.

rechecked all the hoses all seems fine. looked at spark plugs they seem new.

maybe dpfe went bad for leaving it unplugged?

what should i check this making me mad as i need to register it before they tow it as its on the street and i live at apartments.

What did you figure out??

took it to a friend. who works for the ford dealership as a mechanic. hopefully he can figure it out.

I found two problems with mine like that it's MAF too dirty got a new on they wasn't to expensive. The second one I had both banks running lean and it was fuel pump replaced the own at 210000 miles. 98 b3000

Before it mine would do alot of high idle till I change the MAF then it started to flood the truck (fuel pressure regulator went out) it sounded like a big block from the drag strip drove on it for a few weeks like that everyone thought I had a camed out v8 in it. Hope this helps
