Upper and lower (LARGE) radiator hoses changed about 2 years ago along with T-Stat. Now I noticed there is dripping after the truck warms up at the point where the upper large radiator hose meets the T-stat neck.
Temps here today 25F and I started the truck for about no more than 10 minutes (stationary) and the dripping started.
Clamp seemed tight enough but I moved it closer to the edge of hose where it meets the T-stat neck and then added a second clamp right next to 1st one and tightened them both. Will check again a bit later.
What would cause a 2 year old hose to start leaking at that area with the truck doing less then 10K miles per year ?

Could be a crack in the t-stat housing.
Maybe rad cap is allowing too much pressure to be built up, and bulged the upper hose starting the leak.

Also after warm up and drip starts, shut off engine and then run hand around where you think the leak is.
I had a pin hole leak that was spraying onto another cooling system part, so leak was NOT where I thought it was, lol, but I did find it after replacing the good part :)

I tested the truck again this afternoon I ran the truck till the temp gauge was just below the normal area. No leaking / dripping from the hose. Appears moving the original hose clamp closer to the end of the hose at the T-stat neck and adding a second clamp right next to the re-positioned original has done the trick :yahoo:

Will continue to keep an eye and now to fully clean up the residual coolant left behind.

worm clamps loosen in cold weather.
