'98 a/c issue

Have a '98 2.5L that I'm chasing a/c issues with, could use some help. The problem is on Max/Air setting, I am not getting vacuum to the control solenoid that opens the recirculation door. I have chased vacuum lines and replaced what "might" be suspect, but nothing glaringly obvious. Also ran diagnosis on the blend air flap and actuator, everything is in working order. Also, sometimes while driving with the a/c on, it will randomly redirect air to the defroster vents and then back to the dash vents. Then at times the airflow will stop/slow down significantly, like there is a restriction or door closed off (blower motor still running). It seems like it is a vacuum related problem to me, just can't seem to isolate it. Is there a vacuum reservoir on this somewhere that might be leaking? If so, where is it located.

Anyone out there who has experience with this issue and can offer some advice/direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

does this happen with the foot feed yea check all the vacuum lines their is a vacuum reservour just trace the lines till you find the can there is a relay that turns the compressor off at WOT and the vacuum lines going to the switch. My jeep puts the air out the defrost when you have the peddle down I believe that is all controlled by the computer run the codes and see what it says.

On my 92 the vaccum acuator for the outside air door did the same thing yours is doing. Flat ground it would blow cold ac start to go up a hill it would get warmer. Its a vacuum leak somewhere between the actuator and the vacuum tree or fitting on the intake.
What you will literally have to do is trace the line back to the intake buy a hand vacuum pump (they are cheap) and start testing the rubber and hard lines. 9 times out of 10 its the plastic hard lines that have gotten brittle and cracked. Even when it looks ok a pinhole will cause this problem.

Thanks for the input. Looks like we just need to start replacing vacuum lines/hoses.
