So I have been putting my 5.0 together for the swap. From a 98 mountaineer and I just realized the threads are on the inside of the oil filter location and since I doubt I can use that antifreeze cooled 90° that was on the engine due to my 1990's steering box location what should I do here? I know I need to relocate the oil filter but how do I change over to a traditional thread style on those 5.0's

Have you looked at the later oil filter adapter? I don't know if it works better for your swap, but the 99 version is shaped differently and not liquid cooled.

There's an adapter that threads into the hole on 302's with engine mounted filters.

I was going to get the one from transdapt or something similar I know since im putting it in a 90 ranger I dont think its gonna fit using the other style 90

So he is an update its really easy to remove the exploder oil filter thread use a 1 1/4 socket ill update when I install the other one it only comes tomorrow
