98 4x4 Dana 35

So I have a 98 4x4 and I'm curious if there are any better front differentials that are a drop in or close to it replacement. By drop in I mean I'm not looking to replace the transfer case to put something else in, mainly change the hubs, axles and diff.

I've heard there is a front 8.8 in that configuration. Maybe look into that?

Replacing the front hubs/axles with '00+ gets rid of the vacuum hubs which is a definite step up.

8.8 from F-150 is next step up if wanting to keep SLA, but it is probably more work than solid axle swap...

Transfer case isn't necessarily swapped in a solid axle upgrade...

If you want to keep ifs than 2000 ranger parts are your best bet all bolt on or join the sas club

I would venture to say the front 8.8 would be a TON more work than a SAS... which isn't really a cakewalk the first time through either.

or 2004 knuckles if you want 12" rotors. but that means 16" wheels are necessary.
