giving a friend of mine my 3.0 out of my 97. and i will be swapping in a 3.0 from a 98...alot less miles:icon_thumby:

any who is the oil pan, motor mounts, and the manifolds the same? the same? also can i use the intake from the 98 in my 97 with the 97 wiring harness or should i just change all of the stuff from the 97 motor of to the 98 engine!

Motor mounts and oil pan should be the same. Manifolds are different, but I think you can use pre 98 manifolds on 98+ trucks, so it may work the other way too. The cylinder heads haven't changed, so it would just be the y-pipe, and possible clearance issues with the steering shaft, etc you'd have to worry about.
As far as the intake goes, the 98 would be an upgrade over you 97 stuff, but there could be minor things like throttle cable length that would need to be modded.
